Sheila Maguire is a graduate of the URI Masters of PT Program. Sheila also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Communications Studies. At URI she was chosen to study in the University Affiliate Program focusing on children with disabilities. She has provided PT services for children in the public school system and at Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center. She has also worked at in-patient rehabilitation facilities for acute and long-term rehab patients. She has been practicing PT in outpatient settings for over 20 years, treating a variety of orthopedic injuries and conditions. Sheila is certified in Hippotherapy, using the horse as a treatment tool for balance, coordination, and neuromuscular control. She is also certified in Piyo, which combines Pilates and yoga to address flexibility, balance, strength and core stability for improved posture, endurance and functional mobility. Originally from Pennsylvania, Sheila moved to the Boston area and now lives in Warwick, RI with her family. Sheila volunteers for several non-profit organizations in the area including the children’s ministry at her church. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, her pets, gardening, the beach and paddleboarding.
